Tellington TTouch Training offers a gentle approach to the care and training of companion animals, horses, farm animals, exotics and wildlife. It is also an effective and empowering method that provides self-help for humans. Developed by internationally recognized animal expert, Linda Tellington-Jones, PhD (Hon), this method is based on cooperation and respect for all animals and their people. The approach in the field of canines is widely accepted as a powerful method to improve behavior, enhance performance and health and teach a dog to learn willingly. It helps establish a deeper rapport and more effective connection and understanding between humans and their animals.
The Tellington TTouch Method is comprised of three components:
- Gentle body work called Tellington TTouch that reduces physical tension and promotes relaxation.
- Movement exercises that enhance balance, focus, and body awareness.
- Innovative equipment and tools to also enhance balance, body awareness, and provide novel sensory input.
This workshop will cover the principles and basic skills of the bodywork, movement exercises, and leash work. We will put these TTouch techniques into practice in addressing the specific needs of the dogs that are present.
* You will learn effective and creative methods of helping dogs overcome fearful, anxious, or reactive behavior.
* You will become more skilled at reading and understanding canine body language and social behavior signals.
* You will learn how to influence dog behavior through the use of calming techniques to reduce arousal, tension, and stress.
* You will improve your training and handling skills with animals, as well as your coaching skills with people.
* You will also have an opportunity to experience the work with other species including cats.
Participants at TTouch workshops speak of seeing with new eyes, developing new insights into how animals learn, discovering more successful ways of coping with difficulties, and - best of all - coming away knowing that they can make a difference in the lives of animals.
