  Description of Seminar/Conference

What Is CARAT?
Developed by Suzanne Clothier in 2007, CARAT (Clothier Animal Response Assessment Tool) is a novel assessment system that categorizes behavior traits in multiple components that are intuitive and practical. It is the assessment system currently in use at Guiding Eyes for the Blind, one of the world's largest guide dog schools, and is used to evaluate puppies, breeding stock and dogs coming in for training.

CARAT Level 1.1 - an introductory training, which includes development of observation skills, and the Level 1 CARAT concepts. Video, and group exercises are heavily utilized. You will end this seminar with a good grasp of CARAT basics and a sense of whether or not you wish to pursue certification. CARAT Level I is a 3-part certification. Level I-Intro is a pre-requisite for the follow-on trainings, which are scheduled for 2016.
