This weekend seminar will be a discussion about dogs and how they became the animals we have today.  With the combination of Ray Coppinger, PhD, a world renowned evolutionary ecologist and Ken McCort, an internationally known trainer and behavior consultant, this weekend will be filled with the latest information on how dogs became dependant on man and how man has become enamored with dogs.

With an in depth look at the biology and evolution of the dog, Dr. Coppinger will discuss motor patterns, emergent behaviors and other characteristics of dogs that effect how they behave in our world today.  He will help us examine the cognitive processes our dogs are capable of using to live with their human companions.  With Mr. McCort’s input, the breed types will be examined as well as how these biological processes affect the day-to-day lives dogs share with humans.  When things work out, both humans and dogs benefit.  When things don’t match up well, behavior problems can be the result.  This weekend will spotlight the issues and examine the resolutions available to humans caught up in living with dogs.
