"Village Dogs of the World"
Their fascinating lives & the health problems arising when they interact with people.
Of the world’s 1 billion dogs, only about 150,000 are owned pets mainly in “developed countries”.
The other 850,000 look like “pavement specials”, outside human reproductive control. They live in
and around the world’s cities, villages and associated garbage dumps - they’re often called “village
dogs”. They have interesting social lives and unusual reproductive lives.
However when interacting with people a major issue of disease control often develops including
subjects like: Rabies, bite prevention, Over Population, Mass Vaccination, Humane Handling.
We’ll cover both their fascinating lives and the problems of interacting with people.
