Description of Seminar/Conference |
| |
|
We will take a look at the world of assistance dog
training, whether you would like to be involved as a volunteer, a full time
trainer, help your disabled clients with their dogs or want to train your own
dog. This seminar is an ideal way to start the process and gather valuable
information.
We will spend the day discussing a variety of issues related to
assistance dog training including:
- Tasks specific types of assistance dogs perform- what is the difference in the skill set of autism, guide, service, support, hearing, PTSD (the list goes on) dogs?
- Laws regarding training and public access for assistance dog partners and trainers.
- How to ensure a high quality of life for working dogs
- How to become involved with an established organization as a volunteer or employee
- How can you add some form of assistance dog training to your established pet dog training business
- Key points to consider when training your own assistance dog
- What else would you like to know- plenty of question and answer time!
