  Description of Seminar/Conference

This will be a fascinating discussion on the differences between wild and domesticated animals, using wolves and dogs as our subject matter. If you have any interest in ethology or questions about the validity of dominance in companion animals, this course is a must. It will help you distinguish between normal dog behavior and normal wolf behavior, and will also help you when dealing with a variety of dog breeds, since certain adaptive behaviors have been exaggerated in the selective breeding of dogs. You’ll also learn about instinctive drift, motor patterns and we’ll touch on hybrid wolves. Ken works with the people at Wolf Park on a regular basis and has had extensive experience with pet dogs, wolves and rare dog breeds.
